Carlos De Leon, PharmD - PIC, Pharmacy Manager

Carlos De Leon is the new Pharmacist-in-Charge/Pharmacy Manager at Oakdell Pharmacy in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. De Leon completed his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M College Station and received a BS in Biochemistry. He went on to pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Creighton University, a private Jesuit college in Omaha, Nebraska.
Upon completion of his degree in Pharmacy, Carlos moved back to Texas and took on a position as Director of Pharmacy/ Teamleader at McAllen Heart Hospital, a full-service free-standing open-heart facility. After 4 years, he moved to HCA as the Clinical Coordinator of Pharmacy at Rio Grande Regional Hospital. After six years, he was promoted to be Director of Pharmacy at Rio Grande Regional. He remained in this capacity for 8 years and then relocated to the Woodlands, Texas to be the Pharmacy Manager at St. Luke’s Health The Woodlands Hospital. While at St. Luke’s, Carlos worked with medical oncologists to open an outpatient cancer treatment center. He also set up an outpatient infectious disease infusion center and was a key leader in getting a higher level of care status for the neonatal ICU.
Carlos has been recognized for Best Demonstrated Practices in handling sterile products, including hazardous /cytotoxic drugs, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Neonatal Critical Care and Adult Critical Care.
Carlos has 3 children, Dr. Kathryn De Leon-Feigl, a Dentist in the Dallas metro area. Eric Christian De Leon is pursuing a career in anesthesia at the University of Colorado and David Matthew De Leon, is pursuing a career in pre-Medicine and plans to be a surgeon.
Randy Nemecek

Randy Nemecek earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in 2010 with honors. He took on the big role of being the head pharmacist of our Home Intensive Care department in August of 2023 and currently serves as the Clinical Pharmacist of Infusion Services.
Randy started his career like most in retail pharmacy and then branched out to sterile infusion pharmacy as well as hospital pharmacy. He enjoys the family aspect of Oakdell and loves to joke and play pranks on coworkers. He also enjoys taking care of the unique patients we serve. Outside of work Randy is a big family man and enjoys time with his fur babies.
Leila Caperton

Leila Caperton has an MS in Kinesiology from Texas Woman’s University with a minor in Behavior, prior to receiving her degree she was a sergeant in the Army working in the intelligence field where she was introduced to the world of numbers, auditing, and financial organization through her Battalion S-1. She continued to work and advance in all facets of finance and accounting while continuing her education in finance and teaching. In 2017 she joined the Oakdell accounting team and has been an intricate part of the support mechanism that allows for smooth operations daily. Today she serves as an administrator for the facility where she oversees purchasing and receiving and assists in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility as well as being a member of the inventory team. She says she enjoys working for Oakdell because of the team cohesiveness. She enjoys the way everyone strives to conquer their goals together, which allows for a positive working environment. On a personal note, Leila’s hobbies are reading, word and crossword puzzles (the kind you must put together on a table) and she is a huge animal advocate. She has been known to stop her truck in the middle of the highway to pick up a stray.
Kimberly Doctor - Controller/Administrator

Kimberly has over 37 years of experience in the accounting industry, and has served as Oakdell’s accountant for the past eighteen. She has been in her current role as Contoller/HR Director since 2017. Additionally, Kimberly serves as a member of Oakdell’s Senior Management Team.
Kimberly’s love for accounting and auditing began at a young age. She held various positions in the field of accounting, and obtained her certification from H&R Block in 1982. Her admiration for the founder and owners of this family owned small business is what drives her. As HR Director, she is responsible for all employee relations and pursues continuing educational courses to ensure she is abreast of the most current laws.
Kimberly enjoys traveling and cruising. She has been happily married to her husband Joey for 35 years, has two grown children, Brandi and Joel, and a wonderful daughter-in-law, Amber.
Scott Sumners, PharmD

Scott earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The University of Houston College of Pharmacy in 2007. He has been with Home Intensive Care Pharmacy and Oakdell Pharmacy for over ten years, and currently serves as the Director of Infusion Services.
Scott is a member of the National Home Infusion Association and previously served as a Member of the Standards/Accreditation Committee. He is also a member of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition and the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition – Texas Alamo Chapter.
It is Scott’s belief that every person was created as a unique individual and ridged, cookie cutter therapy options are not always best for his patients. He believes that as a pharmacist, he can do more than the status quo by individualizing dosing options through patient specific compounding and patient care.
Wendi Klein, PharmD

Wendi is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin pharmacy school, where she graduated with honors. She has over twenty years experience as a pharmacist, serving as a valued member of the Oakdell Pharmacist staff for the past twelve years.
Wendi has received extensive training in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy and compounding. She is a member of the Texas Pharmacy Association and maintains her certification in Sterile compounding.
Wendi is married with three children and two dogs. She enjoys spending time outdoors and actively participating in her children’s extra-curricular activities.
Mark Hanus, RPh

Mark Hanus started his career as a pharmacist in 1982 after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin. With over thirty-seven years of experience as a pharmacist, he has seen the industry from multiple vantage points. Practicing pharmacy in retail, compounding, pain management, long-term care and hospice, has inspired a passion for treating patients with chronic pain.
Currently working as a compounding pharmacist specializing in topical pain creams, Mark consults with doctors to establish treatment plans for patients with chronic pain. A treatment plan includes collaborating with practitioners to develop patient specific formulations with individualized dosing and application sites. Mark educates patients on the use of creams, application, side effects, and expected results.
Mark currently resides in San Antonio with his wife of 37 years. They have three children, two of which are pharmacists, and one a sterile compounding pharmacy technician. He enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering in the community.
